New Podcast: SPEE3D on pivoting, and their expansion into Germany

In our latest podcast episode, we spoke with Byron Kennedy, co-founder of our member SPEE3D, and Stefan Ritt, their Managing Director in Germany. In a massive and successful pivoting effort, the company has recently explored how antimicrobial copper for touch surfaces, such as door handles, can help stop the spread of COVID-19, and how those coatings can be installed quickly using 3D printing. While pretty busy on the home front, SPEE3D also went ahead with a planned expansion into the German market, aided by Germany Trade & Invest (GTAI) and the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade).

Byron gives a detailed overview of how his company has adapted to the crisis. In this episode, Byron and Stefan also share insights into an expansion into Germany and the role that organisations like Germany Trade & Invest and Austrade have played. They also describe some of the challenges in setting up a German subsidiary – and, without giving too much away, that part features the word ‘paperwork’!
